Posted in Writing on February 12th, 2008 by AdministratorMy friend and fellow author Anne Douglas is celebrating her most recent release at Loose ID
Three friends, two problems, and a sexually outrageous suggestion that might fix everything.
After twenty years of marriage has Emma Howell’s happy-ever-after finally come to an end? As she reaches the mid point in her life, she looks around with eyes that aren’t as youthful as they once were, and wishes she still had the intimacy and closeness she sees in her friend’s marriages.
Her kids are gone. Her husband works longer hours than ever, leaving her even more lonely. And then there’s the sex they don’t have. Do those late nights involve another woman? Is Aaron about to trade her in for a new, younger model?
Aaron Howell is certain his wonderfully curvy, intelligent and sexy wife is considering having an affair. They haven’t had sex for months, and his worries about his marriage failing have grown so big even his usually solid golf game’s affected.
Silas Worth is finally finding his feet after loosing his wife, Joan, to cancer — although he’s not yet ready for another relationship. Pity no one told his libido that. Might his and Joan’s explorations into the swinging scene provide the answer for all three of them?
I had the pleasure of reading this story and it’s one worth checking out. So head on over to Loose ID and buy Anne’s book. You won’t be disappointed.
Front Row Baby!!!
Posted in Life on February 10th, 2008 by AdministratorOkay, first I have to thank our friends Alex and Peg for thinking of us when the tickets went on sale. It was by far the best, most amazing concert I’ve been to. Our seats were front row center and Geoff Tate was close enough I could reach out and touch him. Don Dokken opened the show, doing an acoustic set of the Dokken material. We got a kick out of watching him harrass Gameboy and his friend who were sitting directly in front of Don. The ‘grown ups’ all sang along to the old Dokken tunes like ‘In my Dreams’, ‘Alone Again’, ‘Breaking the Chains’ and ‘It ain’t Love’ to just name a few. It was fun and brought back great memories.
Then QUEENSRYCHE took the stage. OMG…what an amazing show. Geoff Tate is a fantastic showman and being so close we were able to see just how ‘into’ the songs he gets. The band did a great combination of songs ranging which included some of my favorites off of ‘Rage for Order’, ‘Operation Mind Crime’ and ‘Empire’. Gamboy made out huge. This was his first concert and by the end of the show both the guitar players (Michael Wilton and Mike Stone) and the bass player (Eddie Jackson) had all walked up and handed him one of their picks. HOW COOL WAS THAT? Gameboy’ buddy and our friend’s son was celebrating his 11th birthday and he had the honor of receiving the ‘official’ sticks used by Scott Rockenfield during the concert.
But oh no, it didn’t end there. After the concert we waited for most of the crowd to leave before slapping on our Back Stage Pass stickers. Yep, we got to meet the band. Thank you again Alex and Scott Rockenfield for making that happen. So not only did Gameboy get guitar picks, but I bought him a concert tee which he was able to have signed by every member of the band AND he has pictures taken with each member of the band. And I got my picture taken with Geoff Tate!!!! God gave that man a set of pipes and boy-oh-boy does he know how to use them.
The picture above is one of many that I took while we were there. If you want to see them all go to my myspace page and check it out. www.myspace.com/authormichellecary
Queensryche!
Posted in Life on February 9th, 2008 by AdministratorI am so psyched. Tonight is the Queensryche concert in Atlantic City. Not only is it my first concert since Bon Jovi’s Crush tour, but it’s gameboy’s first concert ever. I can’t think of a better band for him to have his first concert experience with AND to top it all off, our friend who bought the tickets is also good friends with one of the band members and has arranged back stage passes for after the show. HOW COOL IS THAT?
And though dollbaby won’t be going with us (she’s too little and has extremely sensitive hearing) she’ll be having her own fun at a sleepover with one of my best friends and her niece.
Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some pictures to post of not only the show but the band. Wouldn’t that be awesome!!!
What should you be when you grow up?
Posted in Uncategorized on February 8th, 2008 by AdministratorLOL…you have no idea how many times I’ve been told this.
You Should Be a Politician |
![]() Confident, assertive, and dedicated - you know what you want in life and how to get it. Stubborn and opinionated, you can stand your ground… even if it’s unpopular. And while you have strong views, you never overwhelm people with your opinions. A true charmer, you subtly influence people into seeing things your way.You do best when you: - Work according to your own rules - Can change the world with what you do You would also be a good lawyer or talk show host. |

Superbowl Upset?
Posted in Life on February 4th, 2008 by AdministratorWhile I’m a huge football fan, I wasn’t glued to my television set Sunday night eagerly awaiting the Patriots to produce a perfect season. Yeah, I too thought they had it wrapped up. I swore the fix was in and they would have their perfect season because that would be good promo for the NFL. Plus my favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts weren’t playing, so what did I care?
For me it was the lesser of the two evils. If I had to root for a team it would be the Giants if only because I wanted to see Peyton’s little brother get his own Superbowl. Then again, I had no intention of watching any way. So I sit with my butt on the couch working on edits and rewrites for two stories due out in a couple of months and decided to check my e-mail.
You can’t imagine my surprise when up on my screen pops the title, Giant upset! My brow raised in curiosity and I clicked on the link to investigate. Just a couple of sentences in to the story and I began to laugh. No way had the underdog giants beat the NFL’s pride and joy, but sure enough there it was in print. The Giant’s had pulled a huge upset that I for one was glad to see. With this game this lopsided season can now come to an end and while Patriots fans will surely lament on this Superbowl for months to come, I will focus my sports attention to a new team…Go Philadelphia Soul!
