I survived my 1st book signing!
On Saturday I had my very first book signing. It was held at the Borders Express in the Voorhees Town Center (formally the Echelon Mall) in Voorhees, NJ. I was so nervous that moring I didn’t eat and my husband was a gem. He not only kept the kids out of my path he took dollbaby to a friend’s birthday party that should wouldn’t have been able to attend otherwise. I walked into the store nervous as hell and wondering exactly what I was supposed to do. Thankfully for me within a few minutes of being there I sold a book and from there I found my footing and dug in.
Many people wouldn’t even look at me when they walked in. Others would give me a curious glance and say hi, but kept walking. Other’s would engage me in coversation, but didn’t purchase a book. All in all by the time my two hours was up, I’d sold six of the ten copies the store had ordered. With nothing to gauge by I can only assume that’s a good thing. At three o’clock I signed the remaining stock, packed up my things, purchased a couple of books for my kiddos, thanked the sales associates for having me and left.
The great thing is, I’ve been invited back for a second signing when my next book hits print next year!

They wouldn’t look at you? How weird. Maybe they thought you were going to give them cooties.
