Michelle Cary pens a beautiful love story in Sophie’s Secret. I like the angst Ms. Cary created between the couple as Logan
wrestles with his love of Sophie against his friendship with her brother.
Sophie’s Secret proves that sometimes your true love is right in front of your
face, waiting patiently to unfold.

I couldn’t have asked for a better story. Sophie’s Secret is emotionally gripping and sensually satisfying. I enjoyed every single enticing word.
With only two charts left, tears burned her eyes and she whispered a prayer…
“Please let him still be here.” She opened the next chart only to have her fear increased when the name didn’t match. She let go of the chart, the metal clanged as it banged into the others already resting in a pile.
Closing her eyes, she held the last chart in her hands, afraid of what she’d find. Slowly she lifted the cover, opened her eyes and blew out a relieved breath.
Without, another word, she sat the chart on the desk and headed for bed four. Cupping her hand over her mouth, she stopped at the end of the bed and stared. Even after ten years, she would still recognize his handsome face behind the bruises. His dark brown locks were shorter than she remembered, but other than that, he seemed mostly the same.
“Tess?”
She whirled around to find Tori standing behind her with a worried look on her face. “Tess, what’s wrong?”
“He’s an old friend.”
Tori arched a brow. “Really? You never mentioned you knew somebody famous.”
Tess shrugged. “It never came up. Hey, if you don’t mind, I’d like to mind his care for this shift.”
Tori placed a hand on her shoulder. “Of course. He’s been fading in and out of consciousness. From what I’ve been told, he’s yet to be coherent enough to actually talk.” She turned to walk away then paused. “Is it okay for me to ask how you know him?”
Tess stared down at his bruised and battered face, a wealth of emotions swimming inside her head. “Devin and I were high school sweethearts.”
Ten years after her world was shattered by rape, Brooke Hague has finally picked up the pieces of her life. She worked hard to put that horrible night behind her, until the man who hurt her is paroled. Now stalked by the man who raped her, Brooke’s life is in danger.
Crab fishing captain Nathan Lowery has suffered his fair share of tragedy over the years. He swears he’s given up on love, despite the feelings he has for the shy, petite red-head. Learning her life may be in danger, Nathan does the one thing he can to help protect her-he takes her with him to Alaska during king crab season.
Cooking for six men on a boat in the middle of the Bering sea presents more of a challenge than Brooke bargained for. It’s also the last place she expected to fall in love, but when the season ends and the stalker is still at large, Brooke’s fear for her own wellbeing is overshadowed by her need to save her new love’s life. She knows, in the end, if necessary, she’ll give her own life to save his.

Reinventing herself was easy, until her old life came back to haunt her.

Walking away from the world’s oldest profession was the easiest thing Cyndi Whitmore ever did. After five long years of selling her body to men, she vowed never to look back. Now, eighteen months later, her former `friends’ are turning up dead and all fingers point to her as the murderer.
As if being framed isn’t bad enough, her sudden attraction to the deputy working the “hooker murders” has her head spinning with confusion. Conditioned to be suspicious of the law, Cyndi finds herself torn between heart and mind when the sexy deputy is interested in her as more than just a suspect. If she has any hope of clearing her name, Cyndi knows she must overcome her fear and trust the only person willing to believe in her innocence.
Deputy Braden Andrews never expected to be dealt the task of catching a serial killer when he accepted the deputy sheriff’s position in his small Nevada town. Nor did he expected his prime suspect to be a beautiful, alluring woman with a checkered past and secrets to hide. Braden works to gain her trust in an attempt to pump her for information, knowing that she holds something important about the case. Instead, he falls hard for the auburn beauty. Despite his growing love for her, he quickly realizes there’s a better than average chance she’s being framed, but can he prove Cyndi’s innocence before the killer strikes again?

First, I’d like to wish everyone a very happy new year. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I know I did.
So now it’s 2009 and resolution season. When I was younger, I used to make the traditional New Years resolutions, only to break them before Valentine’s Day even arrived. In recent years I’ve given up on the resolutions per se, but I do still find the beginning of the year as a way to start fresh. This weekend I started a new writing project. It’s the sequel to Ransomed Heart and will, with any luck be out before Christmas next year. Keep your fingers crossed on that one.
I’ve also spent time cleaning house, throwing things out and giving stuff away I don’t need anymore. To say my house is small is almost an understatement. I mean it’s not tiny, we do have 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths, but we also have two children to occupy those bedrooms and bathrooms. Therefore, from time to time it’s necessary to get rid of unnecessary clutter thats gathered over the year. The new year seems to be the perfect time to make that happen.
So as I head back to work tomorrow with a clean house and a weight loss goal, I find myself wondering what other people do to ring in the new year. Are you one to make resolutions and if you are do you stick with them?
