That’s right folks. After a longer wait that I would have liked, Barnes and Noble now has Some Kind of Hero available for pre order.

After serving his tour of duty in Iraq, Sergeant Derek Rison returns home to find his apartment—and his life—in ruins. Sitting in the back booth of a local diner, contemplating his options, Derek meets waitress Jordan Minx, a petite brunette with a sad smile and a big heart.

Well-intentioned Jordan offers him a place to sleep, but an accidental encounter in the bathroom lands them both in her bed. Derek discovers a woman with an insatiable appetite for sex and a secret to hide—her “boyfriend” blackmails her to be a toy for his group of kinky friends.

Bolstered by Derek’s love, Jordan finally has finds the courage to do the right thing. But the cost of freedom could be her life.

New Reviews!

The first reviews for Best of Intentions are in and their wonderful.

ParaNormalRomance.org
Reviewer: Stacy Link

Michelle Cary does a wonderful job of drawing the reader into the story of Devin and Tess. Best of Intentions is well written and an inspiration to those that have loved and lost someone to a career, only to find that special someone again.

Nights and Weekends.com
Reviewer: Margaret Marr

Ms. Cary used a deft hand in keeping a good balance between all three story elements—romance, paranormal, and suspense—making Best of Intentions a splendid read from start to finish.

Update and stuff…

Posted in Life, Romance, Writing, books, e-books, suspense on February 1st, 2009 by Administrator

Life for me has been more than busy in the past few weeks. Update and writing had been done in fits and spurts and for that I apologize. But here’s what’s going on in my world.

I’ve retitled my sequel to Ransomed Heart from The Price of Love to Foolish Heart. The story itself is coming along very slowly. I’d say I’m about 1/4 of the way through it, and with my crazy life, it may take some time to finish. Sorry about that to you fans of Ransomed Heart. However I promise I will finish the sequel.

New Releases:

Ransomed Heart is available now in print from amazon.com, barns&noble.com and borders.com.

Best of Intentions is available now in electronic format from my publisher The Wild Rose Press. If I have my dates correct the print version of Best of Intentions should be available the end of February. I say that with some hesitation since Ransomed Heart’s original release date was April 2009 and it’s already out. You just never know when dates will be changed.

June 2009 I will have my first release with Amber Quill Press. It’s a joint project with author Amanda Young entitled Don’t Look Back and is a romantic suspense story with erotic elements.

Then in July/August 2009 my second release with Amber Quill will be Northern Lights. NL, as I’ve called it for the last four years, is a story about a woman overcoming fear and facing her past while trying to hold onto her future. It’s an usual story that’s filled with turmoil, suspense and lots of romance, but little actual sex. I’m extremely proud of this story and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it does well.

Works in Progress

Like I said before I’m working on the sequel to Ransomed Heart, entitled Foolish Heart. Plus I’m sketching out a third story for the Ransomed Heart series, but it’s in the preliminary stages.

Sweet Surrender is a story I’ve been working on with the intentions of subbing it to my editor at Loose Id. It’s an erotic romance novella that mixed mystery/suspense with the world of submissives and bondage. If I ever mange to find time to finish it, I think it will be a great story.

Well, folks, that’s all for now. I hope to update more often so if you have questions, comments or opinions you’d like to share please feel free.

Thanks,

Michelle

With only two charts left, tears burned her eyes and she whispered a prayer…

“Please let him still be here.” She opened the next chart only to have her fear increased when the name didn’t match. She let go of the chart, the metal clanged as it banged into the others already resting in a pile.
Closing her eyes, she held the last chart in her hands, afraid of what she’d find. Slowly she lifted the cover, opened her eyes and blew out a relieved breath.
Without, another word, she sat the chart on the desk and headed for bed four. Cupping her hand over her mouth, she stopped at the end of the bed and stared. Even after ten years, she would still recognize his handsome face behind the bruises. His dark brown locks were shorter than she remembered, but other than that, he seemed mostly the same.
“Tess?”
She whirled around to find Tori standing behind her with a worried look on her face. “Tess, what’s wrong?”
“He’s an old friend.”
Tori arched a brow. “Really? You never mentioned you knew somebody famous.”
Tess shrugged. “It never came up. Hey, if you don’t mind, I’d like to mind his care for this shift.”
Tori placed a hand on her shoulder. “Of course. He’s been fading in and out of consciousness. From what I’ve been told, he’s yet to be coherent enough to actually talk.” She turned to walk away then paused. “Is it okay for me to ask how you know him?”
Tess stared down at his bruised and battered face, a wealth of emotions swimming inside her head. “Devin and I were high school sweethearts.”
